Baldwin And Streep Blast Democrats

ALEC BALDWIN and MERYL STREEP are disgusted with the Democrats representatives in the US Senate for failing to block SAMUEL ALITO's Supreme Court nomination.

The liberals only garnered 25 of the necessary 41 votes required to delay the appointment, leaving the actors fearful for their traditionally liberal party's future.

Baldwin targets the growing conservative sentiment among officials, according to the New York Daily News.

He says the problem is "chicken-s**t Democrats in the Senate. We have a bunch of budding Zell Millers (Georgia senator) down there. I loathe and despise him on a daily basis."

However, Streep - whose nephew is going to war in Iraq - has sunken into a depression over corruption in US politics and the war in Iraq.

Streep says, "I'm so demoralised. I want a candidate to come out of nowhere and have no conflicts. I want major campaign reform. I want Jesus to come back and throw the money lenders out."

"Everybody in the administration should have a kid in that conflict. Then they'll know how they feel about it."

Meryl Streep says, "Everybody in the administration should have a kid in that conflict. Then they'll know how they feel about it." Anti-war celebrities often use this tactic. Michael Moore does it. David Letterman did it while discussing Cindy Sheehan with Bill O’Reilly. It implies that someone cannot have an opinion on a topic unless they have personally experienced it. As if to say, “Your opinion of the war doesn’t count, because you haven’t lost a child over there.” This is nonsense, of course. I’ve never personally aborted a baby, but I have an opinion on abortion. I have never executed someone, but I have an opinion on the death penalty. Ms. Streep doesn’t have any kids in that conflict, but she obviously knows how she feels about it. And that’s the problem with celebrities. The notions they espouse apply to everyone, but themselves.

I loved the comments, espcially from Godzgrl59. And I agree totally. Hollywood, is so self absorbed, so intermarried to itself, that they no longer, and haven't for a long time reflected what America thinks. I don't have a child in this war, but I had a father, a brother, and a brother-in-law in other wars. I know the prayers of family members praying for our troops, our loved ones. I have a family member who wants to enlist as soon as he graduates high school in June. I guess when life stops for individuals here with earth, the loss that comes with death is horrific. When life goes on beyond death and we know where our loved ones are parting is painful, it's sad, we grieve, but we know we'll see them again. I pray for Ms.Streep and Mr.Baldwin, they need to have their "eyes" opened and softened hearts to receive truth and peace.

Who cares what any of the Hollywood "stars" think about any issue. I cannot, in good conscience, go to see any of the movies of these left-wing blow-hards anymore. As a result, we attend movies less and less. What a shame they can't just keep their mouths shut and stick with what they know how to do. They and their Hollywood ilk are totally out of touch with the heartland of America. We are hard-working, God-fearing, patriotic, military supporting Americans who do not need the scum from the entertainment business telling us what to think.

In my opinion, Alec Baldwin, is an uneducated, ignorant, big mouth that will say or do anything as long as it keeps him the center of attention in the public's eye.Baldwin's rage and anger is notorious. His threats and foul language toward those that disagree with him have been widely publicized. Does that behavior describe a rationale and educated man? I think not. If BS was music, Alec Baldwin would be a brass band.

I'm sure that Zell Miller is losing sleep over the fact that Alec Baldwin loathes and despises him on a daily basis. The arrogance of celebrities is a neverending source of amazement. They are paid big bucks to pretend to be someone they're not, and the ones who do the best job of it get trophies and, presumably, bigger paychecks. The public, in turn, pays money to see this pretense. What on earth makes these people think that anything they say that is not pretend is of any earthly consequence to us whatsoever. Obviously, their egos are crowding out their brain cells.Stick to entertainment and get over the notion that the general public is wowwed by your rantings.

I used to go to the movies at least 3 times a MONTH! No more. I have not been to any movie since there were so many "stars" supporting traitor John Kerry over our GREAT president George Bush. I absolutely refuse to support an industry (Hollywood) which produces SO MANY leftist lunatic liberal loonies. What a bunch of losers (figuratively and literally). They keep losing elections, viewers, and money. Evidently I am not the only former Hollywood fan who feels this way. I read the other day than money is WAY DOWN in Hollywood and actors are having to take severe paycuts. You would think Hollywood would learn a lesson and stick to acting rather than voiceing a political opinion. Who cares what actors think? I sure don't, but I am still going to keep my money from these liberal losers!

Err...hello...did you read the article? Streep will have a nephew in the conflict. Idiot. These 'celebrities' have every right to voice their opinions, just like doctors, plumbers, teachers, tv pundits and truck drivers do since they live in a DEMOCRACY. Whats the difference between the jobs? Unless only politicians are supposed to comment on political issues? In which case, why on earth would America call itself the biggest democracy on earth?

I don't care if all of them have family in the war or none do. The jerks lecture, insult and demean the people very they want to pay for their poorly made films - and their worthless lifestyles. We don't tell them can't speak as they wish - we merely say, we don't care what they say, and don't give it anymore importance than a pig's ear. And I haven't attended their movies, I turn off their television shows, and refuse to buy whatever they are selling. My son was at war and will go again. I refuse to put money in the pockets of those who put his life at risk with their foolishness and bad behaviors. Good ridance to them all.

It is pitiful that these people think because people go to see their movies that they have a bully pulpit. I don't give a flying rat's butt what they think and I suppose they think because of their "stature", they can influence someone. If they only could understand that most people think they should shut their mouths on political issues. I own a nationally prominent motorsports race team and I have no illusions that anyone cares what my political beliefs are just because of that and I refuse to expound long and lagubrious concerning my political beliefs just because I have a pulpit to do so. There are private forums for discussions like that and that is the appropriate venue-not the bully pulpit of a seemingly worshipful audience, at least in their "legendary" minds. I state that with utter cynicism and sarcasm. Actors, please shut your mouths and keep your political commentary to yourselves. The majority of the country is convinced you have no real particular "savvy" or special insight in political matters and most of America could care less what you think, anyway. I'll tell you as I tell my drivers, "Shut up and Drive. THAT'S what you are paid to do."
