ALEC BALDWIN and MERYL STREEP are disgusted with the Democrats representatives in the US Senate for failing to block SAMUEL ALITO's Supreme Court nomination.
The liberals only garnered 25 of the necessary 41 votes required to delay the appointment, leaving the actors fearful for their traditionally liberal party's future.
Baldwin targets the growing conservative sentiment among officials, according to the New York Daily News.
He says the problem is "chicken-s**t Democrats in the Senate. We have a bunch of budding Zell Millers (Georgia senator) down there. I loathe and despise him on a daily basis."
However, Streep - whose nephew is going to war in Iraq - has sunken into a depression over corruption in US politics and the war in Iraq.
Streep says, "I'm so demoralised. I want a candidate to come out of nowhere and have no conflicts. I want major campaign reform. I want Jesus to come back and throw the money lenders out."
"Everybody in the administration should have a kid in that conflict. Then they'll know how they feel about it."

| It is pitiful that these people think because people go to see their movies that they have a bully pulpit. I don't give a flying rat's butt what they think and I suppose they think because of their "stature", they can influence someone. If they only could understand that most people think they should shut their mouths on political issues. I own a nationally prominent motorsports race team and I have no illusions that anyone cares what my political beliefs are just because of that and I refuse to expound long and lagubrious concerning my political beliefs just because I have a pulpit to do so. There are private forums for discussions like that and that is the appropriate venue-not the bully pulpit of a seemingly worshipful audience, at least in their "legendary" minds. I state that with utter cynicism and sarcasm. Actors, please shut your mouths and keep your political commentary to yourselves. The majority of the country is convinced you have no real particular "savvy" or special insight in political matters and most of America could care less what you think, anyway. I'll tell you as I tell my drivers, "Shut up and Drive. THAT'S what you are paid to do." | ||

| I used to go to the movies at least 3 times a MONTH! No more. I have not been to any movie since there were so many "stars" supporting traitor John Kerry over our GREAT president George Bush. I absolutely refuse to support an industry (Hollywood) which produces SO MANY leftist lunatic liberal loonies. What a bunch of losers (figuratively and literally). They keep losing elections, viewers, and money. Evidently I am not the only former Hollywood fan who feels this way. I read the other day than money is WAY DOWN in Hollywood and actors are having to take severe paycuts. You would think Hollywood would learn a lesson and stick to acting rather than voiceing a political opinion. Who cares what actors think? I sure don't, but I am still going to keep my money from these liberal losers! | ||
