Badly Drawn Boy Sues Record Label
British singer BADLY DRAWN BOY is demanding royalties from his former record label XL RECORDINGS from his 2002 ABOUT A BOY soundtrack album.
The YOU WERE RIGHT hitmaker, real name is DAMON GOUGH, has issued a claim in London's High Court, for GBP300,000 ($540,000).
Gough claims GBP200,000 ($360,000) was wrongly deducted from royalties rightfully owed to him from sales of the disc, and that label had instead used them as a means of recouping the advance paid to the producers of the film for the soundtrack rights.
Gough is also asking for GBP39,792 ($71,571) in royalties of his last XL release ONE PLUS ONE IS ONE.
The star signed a deal with EMI this year (04) after leaving XL.26/10/2004 21:00
