Bacharach Fearful Of Upsetting Fans With Politics

BURT BACHARACH is considering ditching controversial political tracks on his new album when he performs in Las Vegas, Nevada, next month (NOV05) - because he doesn't want to suffer the same fate as his pal LINDA RONSTADT.

Ronstadt was booed last summer (04) when she praised documentary maker MICHAEL MOORE during a show at the city's Aladdin Casino, and venue bosses stopped her show when disgruntled fans left the arena.

Now Bacharach fears he'll upset his right-wing fans if he includes politics in his set - with songs about his fears for the future and the state of America.

So he's planning to leave out the new tunes when he plays the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas, during a four-night stint at the venue.

He says, "I don't know if I'll do them there. I'll let my music talk for me.

"Maybe I'll lose some of my hardcore fans (if I play the songs), but maybe I'll gain some more."
