Bacharach Blasts Bush

Singer/songwriter BURT BACHARACH has attacked US President GEORGE W BUSH for his handling of the Hurricane Katrina rescue operation.

The WALK ON BY star insists America had adequate warning of the horrific disaster which rocked Louisiana and left New Orleans submerged, and yet Bush continued to fund the war against terror instead of protecting his people.

Bacharach, 77, recalls reading newspaper articles months before the hurricane, warning "that (New Orleans) would be engulfed, that people would drown, that bodies would be floating down the road.

"Instead of pushing the funding up, they took most of it away to fight this stupid war, and that's unforgivable.

"I think Bush is just about the poorest president we've ever had. You'd have to go back before I was born to find a worse one."

The hurricane effected areas are RED states, they voted for BUSH and deserve eveything that BUSH is doing or not doing for them, just don't use any of my BLUE state money to do it.

George W. Nixon, if a dirty boom where to destroy your city and the terrorist caught and he was asked where he got the parts, and he said the hidden components were on Iraqi soil that "you American fools couldn't find" then it wouls still be Bush's fault right. Hope you survive one if it happens

Jeeze... LOL! All Musicians and Artists MUST SHUT UP! Right now I tells ya! The responses here are comical, a fair reflection of the low brow cognitive faculties of Bush supporters (who think anyone anti Bush is necessarily "liberal"..lol).Wake up people and smell the coffee! Name ONE real musician or artist who supports George W. Bush! Go ahead. Hmmm... kinda like trying to find blue food isn't it? The artistic..and yes even the scientific mind naturally rebels against moronism and catches the scent of BS.What shows itself cannot be said!

It's interesting to see that all you Burt Bacharach bashers think that you're entitled to your opinion, but don't extend that courtesy to anyone who doesn't share your opinion. This is America! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and has a right to express it whether they be plumbers, NASCAR fans, business executives, entertainers, or whatever.

JayJay, dude/dudette, you're an idiot for continually bringing up some type of strawman argument regarding what constitutes a WMD. Now that your dunktified president has told the world that there are no WMD in Iraq, you're going to have the audacity to rewrite what bush himself constituted as a WMD. If you'd pause long enough to pull his schwanz out of your bunghole, you'd realize that whatever you're trying to get at, doesn't mean a flying phuck to anyone but a bushbot. You azzholes are pathetic. Next I guess you beer bellied pimps will try to redefine what a Hurricane is, and then tell the world that what hit the Gulf states was really just a strong gale. Listen hillbilly, that punk that you call a president will go down as the worst president in US history. Now try and rewrite that.

Truth be told, these liberal musicians, actors and directors get paid big bucks because of their ability to communicate emotion. That is what they are all about: EMOTING.If we relied on our presidents to run our country based on their emotions, we would be in a world of hurt. These entertainment-types need to understand that. And the more complaining we get from Burt Bachrach, Barbra Streisand, Sean Penn, Gwenyth Paltrow, etc., the more I know that our president is on the right track.

2005 09 15Thanks, Burt~ you speak for me and many, many others who are sick and tired of Bush and his cronies. The Halliburton job in NOLA should be grounds for impeachment of everyone in the White House. It is the Federal Government's fault and now Bush blames, not himself, but the Federal Government. He is obviously in over his head as a leader. Sad for this country. '

Bucky, land fall was Monday morning early, Aug29, now follow me, Aug 29 to Aug30 1st dayAug 30 to Aug31 2nd days (flew over on way to DC to put aid package together for Senate and House to sign. Senate comes back early to vote on package, House meembers do not come back early but are polled over the phone.Aug 31 to Sept 1 3rd daySept 1 to Sept 2 4th day Today Bush tours the damaged area on the 4th day after Katrina comes ashore. By the time of his visit, unlike some House members, he started his second tour of the area, prepared an aid bill to be signed by Senate and Congress, and Congress seemingly refused to come back to DC early. With the anarchy that was in New Orleans, there was no way that Bush was going to walk the streets of NO even on Friday. General Honore arrived on Friday only two days after Blanco requests them formally.

Look what the former Director of FEMA was dealing with in Louisiana. He was there but being hampered: http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/15/katrina.response/index.html"....Speaking to The New York Times, his [Michael Brown's] first public comments since he was relieved, Brown laid the blame on Blanco and Nagin. He told the newspaper he frantically called Chertoff and the White House in the hours after Katrina hit, telling them Blanco and her staff were disorganized and the situation was "out of control.""I am having a horrible time," Brown said he told his superiors. "I can't get a unified command established."Brown told the Times that he had such difficulty dealing with Blanco that he communicated with her husband instead. ...."Hey, Burt Bacharach, easy to through stones at Bush, simple minded people make simple minded conclusions.
