Arrest Made In Cam'ron Cohort Shooting

LATEST: A man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shoot-out which left a member of CAM'RON's DIPLOMATS crew injured and another man dead.

CHAUNCEY DILLON of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested as a suspect in the 25 April (03) incident which left 28-year-old ERIC MANGRUM dead and rapper FREAKEY ZEKEY of the Diplomats, wounded.

Dillon, 29, was arrested early Wednesday (30APR03) but according to police spokesman SERGEANT KEVIN HAYES, the investigation is still ongoing.

Freakey Zekey, real name EZEKIEL JILES, suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and chest and was listed in stable condition at New York's ST VINCENT HOSPITAL.

According to police, Freakey Zekey, Mangrum, and two other men riding in a white JEEP CHEROKEE were involved in a collision with four men and a woman riding in a silver sedan outside of a popular Chelsea nightclub.

An argument followed which led to pushing and shoving and eventually gunplay. Police officers recovered a 9-millimetre handgun in a garbage container, as well as several 40-calibre castings.
