American Embassy Issues Warning Over Berlin Gig

Berlin's American Embassy has advised citizens against attending a concert by Turkish singer Ibrahim Tatlises tonight (12MAR04) - in the fear terrorists are planning to stage an attack at the gig.

According to a spokesman, American tourists should think carefully before attending the event, following a hand grenade explosion at Tatlises' previous appearance in Hamburg last month (FEB04), in which two people were injured.

The official says, "Based on that suggestion, they might want to avoid the concert."

Intelligence sources have warned that a Berlin-based extremist group may be planning an act of violence at Tatlises' gig.
