Robert Altman - Altman Movie Gets More Stars

LATEST: Veteran movie director ROBERT ALTMAN is set for another star-studded affair when he starts shooting a spin-off of GARRISON KEILLOR's legendary US radio variety show A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION.

MERYL STREEP, LINDSAY LOHAN, WOODY HARRELSON and Keillor himself have already signed up to star in the film, but Altman was happy to announce more big names for his latest project at the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL in France at the weekend (14MAY05).

CHICAGO star JOHN C REILLY is also on board, as is Altman favourite LILY TOMLIN, while KEVIN KLINE is in negotiations to join the cast.

The movie, which is based on the fictionalised premise that Keillor's multi-award-winning show is being shut down after 30 years, starts shooting in Minnesota this summer (05).
