Allen Laughs Off 'Sex And Violence' Claims
Legendary filmmaker WOODY ALLEN has laughed off claims his new film MATCH POINT is full of sex and violence.
Allen's London-set drama stars Irish heart-throb JONATHAN RHYS-MEYERS, SCARLETT JOHANSSON and EMILY MORTIMER and premiered at the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL last month (MAY05).
The movie shocked many critics with an unusually higher sexual and violent content, compared to Allen's previous films.
He tells British magazine EMPIRE, "I thought it was very discreetly done. There wasn't a lot of overt sexuality, just implied sex, and not a lot of overt violence in it.
"Just off-screen and implied. It may have been sexy for one of my movies, but by the standards of films in general, it wasn't really."07/06/2005 09:11
