Aguilera To Star In The Simpsons

DIRRTY singer CHRISTINA AGUILERA is getting animated again - this time in hit TV series THE SIMPSONS.

The sexy star was recently turned into a cartoon jellyfish in the remake of hit song CAR WASH for children's movie SHARK TALE and is looking forward to seeing her second animated look-alike in the popular sitcom.

Aguilera will guest-star as a pop star wannabe when HOMER SIMPSON's bookish daughter LISA enters a spoof of the AMERICAN IDOL talent competition.

New Orleans Jazz Fest Finishes On A High Note 4180685 News

The New Orleans Jazz Fest finished on a high note on Sunday May 5. Montreal-based band Arcade Fire had local musicians Pinettes Brass Band onstage with them, providing accompaniment and, at one point, a wordless rendition of Wake Up.

The night before had belonged to The Boss. Saturday night saw Springsteen take to the stage, opening with High Hopes, the eponymous track from his latest album. Unsurprisingly, he drew a huge audience who were blown away by his set, which featured performances of the usual tracks from his most recent tours.

Christina Aguilera took to the stage at Fair Grounds, growing baby bump and all. The Voice coach was fifteen minutes late to start her set, but once on stage exclaimed to the audience, “My senses are heightened, you smell wonderful.” Performing Nina Simone’s Sugar In My Bowl and B.B. King’s The Thrill Is Gone, she aptly gauged the tone of the festival. However, her closing tracks, Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love, her collaboration with rapper Pitbull, Feel This Moment, and Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jagger (perhaps a nod to fellow The Voice coach and past New Orleans Jazz Fest headliner, Adam Levine) weren’t quite in tune with the theme of the festival.

Good news came from festival sponsor Shell, who announced on the Friday night that they will be extending their arrangement with the festival for five more years.

It's That Time Of Year Again! New Orleans Jazz Festival Returns With Another Two Weekends Of Music Mythology 4166660 News

New Orleans Jazz Festival 2014 logo

It's that time of year again where New Orleans go all out to prove they are one of the most culturally rich cities in North America with their annual two-weekend event, the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

The Jazz Festival has expanded to two long weekends since its inaugural year in 1970, meaning that more people than ever can get the chance to enjoy the fine music culture of Louisiana. The Queen of Gospel Mahalia Jackson appeared at the first event alongside renowned orchestral composer Duke Ellington, and from then on the festival has gone from strength to strength and has never once lost the spirit that has made it so loved.

The music isn't the only culture you can experience over the Spring weekends; the New Orleans Jazz Festival is well prized for its extensive local cuisine which has become such a major part of the event that you can now even see demonstrations from various chefs on the Food Heritage and Cajun Cabin Stages. Also, you'll never be short of something to look at with the numerous crafts displays such as the Congo Square African Marketplace and Louisiana Marketplace.

Eric Clapton performing at the O2
Eric Clapton will no doubt be a weekend highlight

Music is, however, the heart of New Orleans' favourite occasion and with twelve different stages to choose from, everyone's bound to find something they can immerse themselves in. Most of the fun will be taking place at the Acura Stage, Samsung Galaxy Stage and Congo Square Stage, with Acura being the place to be on day 1 (April 25th) as it showcases legends such as Latin rockers Santana to newcomers like chart sensation Laura Mvula. North Carolina's The Avett Brothers will also be worth a look over on Samsung Galaxy. April 26th brings more joys with Boz Scaggs in the Blues Tent, Robert Plant And The Sensational Space Shifters, ad lib icons Phish and 'Blurred Lines' hitmaker Robin Thicke. The following day continues to build the excitement with celebrated guitarist Eric Clapton and New York rockers Vampire Weekend.

Arcade Fire performing at the Roundhouse
Arcade Fire will be bringing a taste of pure rock to festival proceedings

Weekend 2 begins on Thursday, May 1st with Beyonce's talented sister Solange at Congo Square and bluegrass favourites The String Cheese Incident at Acura. May 2nd is all about the big voices of Chaka Khan and Christina Aguilera, while Alabama Shakes share their roots with New Orleans on the Samsung Galaxy Stage. Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band will be the main focus of May 3rd at Acura, with Trey Songz highlighting Congo Square and Foster The People bringing power to Samsung Galaxy. May 4th will by no means be a comedown with the likes of Arcade Fire and soul legend Bobby Womack on the bill.

The New Orleans Jazz Festival has such a wealth of musical culture that it would be a shame for anyone to miss out. It's probably a little late to order tickets now, but if you can get yourself over there for tomorrow or next week it's just $70 per weekend on the gate.

Gwen Stefani Could Be Heading To 'The Voice' To Fill In For Christina Aguilera 4161599 News

No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani is reportedly about to become latest addition to ‘The Voice's’ judging pannel, replacing the pregnant Christina Aguilera. The NBC show, which has already added Pharrell Williams to its season 7 lineup, is said to have signed Stefani for one season to fill in for the expectant Aguliera.

Gwen StefaniIs Gwen Stefani about to join 'The Voice'?

TMZ broke the news, reporting that Gwen has signed on for season 7 of the talent show, which begins taping in June. The deal is said to be only for one season as Aguilera has decided to bow out as she is pregnant with her second child, due later this year with fiancee. It's also reported that NBC wanted Aguilera to stay but the singer was having a difficult time already.

The 33 year old singer is already mother to six year old Max with her former husband Jordan Bratman. After her divorce she began dating film producer Matt in 2010 after meeting on the set of the movie Burlesque. The couple announced their engagement in February and six days later news of Aguilera’s pregnancy broke. The singer has already revealed that her little bundle of joy will be a girl and is due later this year.

As for Gwen, she became a new mother for the third time, just two months ago when she gave birth to a son, Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale in February. Stefani now has three children, all boys, with husband, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. Last weekend she made a surprise appearance at the Coachella festival, where she took to the stage alongside Pharrell Williams to perform her 2005 hit 'Hollaback Girl'.

Speaking of Pharrell, the 'Happy' singer will be seeing a lot more of Stefani soon if she has signed on for 'The Voice'. Pharrell is already confirmed as this season's new judge replacing the exiting Cee-lo Green. Pharrell and maybe Gwen will join returning judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine when the 7th season starts filming in June.

Gwen Stefani To Join Pharrell Williams As Latest Addition To 'The Voice' Judging Panel? 4161347 News

Gwen Stefani may be joining The Voice as a judge for the upcoming seventh season. Reports suggest Stefani is close to signing a deal with the show's network, NBC, to appear as a judge on The Voice for one season.

Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani is rumoured to be joining The Voice as a judge in the upcoming seventh season.

Stefani, according to reports in The Wrap, appears to be filling in for Christina Aguilera who is currently expecting her second child. Aguilera has served as a judge for the show since 2011 but is taking time off during her pregnancy. She is expected to return for the eighth season of the show so Stefani may be a temporary replacement.

Aguilera's baby bump is beginning to show and she is expecting her second child at around the time The Voice season 7 will begin shooting. So timing is not ideal! Aguilera recently shared a picture of her well-disguised bump on Twitter whilst she was visiting New York with her fiancé Matt Rutler.

<center><blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en-gb"><p>Baby loves NYC ?? <a href="http://t.co/RdG9mMGB9E" rel="nofollow" >pic.twitter.com/RdG9mMGB9E</a></p>&mdash; Christina Aguilera (@xtina) <a href="https://twitter.com/xtina/statuses/456854108196986880" rel="nofollow" >April 17, 2014</a></blockquote><script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></center>

Stefani is certainly a suitable choice to join the judging panel as her music career is as impressive as Aguilera's. The 44-year-old was with the band No Doubt before launching a successful solo career in the noughties.

Stefani, should reports prove founded, is not the only new judge to be appearing in the seventh season of The Voice as Pharrell Williams has also been signed by NBC. He will be replacing Cee Lo Green. Green announced back in February that he would be leaving the show and earlier this month it was confirmed Williams would be filling his vacated judging seat. Williams and possibly Stefani will join the two existing judges, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, in June for season 7 of The Voice

Gwen Stefani To Step In For Christina Aguilera On "The Voice" 4161022 News

We never would have pegged Gwen Stefani as the reality talent panelist type, but apparently, money talks and former 90s punk talent listens. Stefani is reportedly in talks to replace fellow blonde pop star Christina Aguilera. Reports are unclear on whether the deal has been made final, but according to “official sources” for TMZ, Stefani has already signed on for next season. Season 7 starts taping in June.

Christina Aguilera
After four seasons on the show, Aguilera is taking a break to have her second child.

Christina Aguilera announced her exit from the show back in February, along with her pregnancy. It makes sense for the big-voiced singer to take a season of maternity leave, of course, given that she will be eight or nine months pregnant by the time the battle rounds begin. According to TMZ, NBC wanted Christina to stay during her pregnancy but she's having a difficult time already and ultimately bowed out.

Gwen Stefani
Stefani is stepping in, but only to keep Aguilera's seat warm for the season.

What’s less clear is whether Aguilera plans to return to The Voice after said maternity leave and how the producers plan on handling the Stefani/Aguilera situation. So far, TMZ reports, Stefani’s deal is just for one season, as Aguilera plans to return to the big red chair straight after her season-long maternity leave. It sounds like diehard Christina fans have nothing to worry about.

Christina Aguilera Is Expecting A Baby Daughter With Matt Rutler 4129636 News

Christina Aguilera is pregnant once again.

The 33 year-old is expecting a baby daughter with new fiancé Matt Rutler.

This will be the pair's first child together.

The pregnancy news comes just weeks after Aguilera announced that Rutler, who she has been dating for the past three years, proposed to her.

"He asked and I said..," she wrote, along with a photo of her hand wearing a huge diamond ring while holding his hand, with a pleasant beach scenery in the background.

Aguilera is already a mother to Max Liron, 6, her son whom she shares with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.

The pair walked down the aisle in November 2005, but after being married for five years they decided to separate, and their divorce was finalized in February 2011.

Aguilera met her new beau, Rutler, while filming 'The Burlesque' in 2010, he was working as a production assistant at the time.

Back in April 2011 the 'Genie In A Bottle' singer gushed to Parade magazine about her son always wanting his mother to himself.

"He doesn't really like to see mommy in work mode quite yet," she said. "He's so used to when he sees mommy, I'm in mommy mode, and mommy mode is all about Max. So as he grows up, he'll understand that side of mommy as a good example of being positive and driven and focused. But for now, he definitely wants mommy all to himself!"

However, despite the pregnancy news the 'Dirty' singer will not slow down her already very busy schedule. Today Aguilera posted a photo on her Twitter page of herself performing onstage in Malaysia.

"Ain't no other fans... Thank you Malaysia for all the love & support! XoXtina," she posted along with the pic.

Congratulations to the happy couple.

First Comes Love... Christina Aguilera Announces Engagement And Pregnancy 4079629 News

It looks like congratulations are in order for Christina Aguilera, who is not only newly engaged, but also expecting. Last week, the singer announced that she was engaged to boyfriend Matt Rutler, whom she met on the set of her 2010 movie Burlesque, where Rutler was working as a production assistant. Apparently the nursery rhyme was correct in this case, because less than a week later, Aguilera is announcing her pregnancy.

No news yet on what the pregnancy will mean for Aguilera's next season on The Voice.

Sources for People, who made the announcement,  report that the couple could not be any happier. The engagement was announced right around Valentine’s day last week, by Christina herself. The Voice coach tweeted a short message to her fans: "He asked and I said……," and included a sweet photo of her hand, with the new addition of a gigantic diamond ring, holding Rutler’s hand with some beautiful beach scenery behind them. What an excellent way to pop the question.

“They’re very much in love and are really excited to take this next step!” a source close to the pair tells People. This will be a second marriage as well as a second pregnancy for Aguilera, who was previously married to Jordan Bratman. The short lived marriage spawned Max Liron, Christina’s first son, who is six years old at the moment.
