007 Boss Broccoli Dies
James Bond producer DANA BROCCOLI lost her battle with cancer on Sunday (29FEB04). She was 82.
The novelist, theatre and film producer passed away at her Beverly Hills, California home and was buried yesterday (04MAR04) following a church service at the CHURCH OF THE HILLS in Forest Lawn, Los Angeles.
Broccoli's late husband CUBBY and Harry Saltzman founded film company DANJAQ in 1961 and went on to buy the rights to IAN FLEMING's 007 character.
Broccoli became the president of Danjaq in 1996 following the death of Cubby and oversaw production on TOMORROW NEVER DIES, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, starring Pierce Brosnan as the ladykilling English spy.
Broccoli's daughter BARBARA is head of development of Danjaq, but may take on an executive role following her mother's passing.
