RENEE ZELLWEGER - ZELLWEGER HARDENED BY FAME

Hollywood actress RENEE ZELLWEGER has been "hardened" by fame - because people always treat her differently now she's a star.

Zellweger, 34, admits she's still struggling to deal with the effects of stardom, particularly when it comes to how she's treated by strangers.

She laments, "I find fame really difficult. Has it changed me? Yes it has. I am a little harder, because it's not easy to lose your voice."

The star of new romantic comedy DOWN WITH LOVE is particularly frustrated by the impact fame has had on her love life.

Despite the fact she's reportedly dating WHITE STRIPES rocker JACK WHITE, Zellweger says she'd be happy with a "crummy" guy.

She asks, "Who might ask me out on a date because he sees me, rather than because he sees that story he's read about me?

"There's a scene in Down With Love where EWAN's (McGREGOR) character meets my character in the dry cleaners, and he recognises her because of the publicity she's had from the book she's written. I know what that feels like.

"It would be nice to have a normal exchange where the behaviour isn't being edited into what that person thinks you might like, or what might win you over. I just want some crummy guy who is having a crummy day to just be crummy."
