YUSUF ISLAM - YUSUF ISLAM RETURNS WITH NEW ALBUM

YUSUF ISLAM, the artist formerly known as CAT STEVENS, has recorded his first pop album since 1978. The MORNING HAS BROKEN singer, who converted to Islam in the late 1970s and turned his back on his music career, has yet to decide whether he'll release his new material as Cat Stevens or Yusuf Islam. He has also yet to decide when the new material will be released, but he has three unnamed record labels fighting for the rights. Islam has kept his recordings to a minimum in recent years, fearing his interest in pop culture would upset his Muslim elders.
