Rapper WYCLEF JEAN refuses to feel guilty about his extreme wealth - because he worked his way up from the bottom.

The GONE TILL NOVEMBER singer grew up in a shack in Haiti before relocating to a poverty-stricken area of Brooklyn, New York when he was nine.

Wyclef, 31, says, "Well, since I was little I was raised that, if you make a dollar, you have to give a certain percentage to the church.

"When I got older I was, 'Uh uh, I'm gonna give a percentage to charity or to a foundation.' But I never really feel guilty.

"Someone begging on the street corner can make $500 (GBP300) by just bumping into me if I have that money in my pocket. But I don't have nothing to feel guilty about.

"I'm one of them kids who came from an immigrant background, my parents emigrated and I've built everything that I have from the ground up.

"And I did it the honest way. If I was just buying all these cars, houses and I didn't do anything for the world, at night it would be hard to sleep. But no, I have a good night's sleep."
