OPRAH WINFREY - WINFREY WANTS TO ACT AGAIN

Talk show queen OPRAH WINFREY is desperate to resurrect her acting career, and is calling on movie bosses to put her back on the big screen.

The daytime TV legend has made a handful of film appearances, most notably in 1985's THE COLOR PURPLE and 1998's BELOVED, but has preferred to concentrate on her award-winning talk show - until now.

After acting in a DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES skit - written for her by the series' creator MARC CHERRY - on her hit show, Winfrey has been bitten by the acting bug.

She says, "I thought I was done with my acting days, but I loved being a part of the Desperate Housewives so much that I'm thinking I might do something else soon."
