LITTLE RICHARD was among the stars paying tribute to late soul legend WILSON PICKETT in Kentucky on Saturday (21JAN06).
More than 800 people gathered to mourn the Alabama-born soul icon at the Canaan Christian Church memorial service.
Little Richard told the crowd that Pickett's passionate songs changed the course of music and paved the way for artists like SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS and WILL SMITH.
Pickett died on 19 January (06) following a heart attack in a Virginia hospital. He was 64.
