Pop hunk ROBBIE WILLIAMS was so moved by the new version of DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS? he wept while recording the charity single.

SIR BOB GELDOF, the organiser of the BAND AID 20 song was touched by the ROCK DJ's response to the track, which was first released in 1984 when Williams was just 10-years-old.

Geldof says, "When Robbie was singing he was quite teary, because he had grown up with the song."
