WHOOPI GOLDBERG - WHOOPI HOOKED ON POKER PRACTICE

WHOOPI GOLDBERG has become such a fan of Texas Hold'em poker she's thinking about playing the game competitively.

The actress has been holding weekly poker nights at her New York apartment for the past two years, but because gambling is illegal in the state, she hasn't actually won anything of worth.

Whoopi has become such an expert at Texas Hold'em, she now thinks she could compete with the car game's big names.

She says, "One day you're going to be laying in bed watching TV at some ungodly hour and I will be sitting at one of those tables losing but looking good.

"It's a game of chance and bluffing - how you can get somebody to drop everything and give you their money. I like that. If I had known how to do that when I was married, things would be a lot different."
