Singer WHITNEY HOUSTON has bounced back looking fit and confident after her longrunning battle with drugs.

Houston, who shocked fans when she appeared onstage at MICHAEL JACKSON's New York show in 2001 looking gaunt, has polished up to look like a true shining star in the video for her new single TRY IT ON MY OWN.

Donning a glittering black dress by ELIE SAAB - the designer who dressed HALLE BERRY for the past two OSCARS - Houston proves her voice has not suffered any setbacks as she belts out the new ballad.

Houston's husband BOBBY BROWN also appears in the Florida-filmed video, making a very brief cameo.
