The WHITE STRIPES star JACK WHITE's decision to branch out with another band has paid off - THE RACONTEURS debut album has entered the US charts at number seven. White has temporarily shelved work with former partner MEG WHITE to concentrate on the group he formed with pal BRENDAN BENSON. The group's first album, BROKEN BOY SOLDIERS, is one of the week's big debuts on the Billboard 200, where rockers RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS remain on top for a second successive week. Other new entries come from rapper CAM'RON (KILLA SEASON) at number two and former O-TOWN star ASHLEY PARKER ANGEL, who debuts SOUNDTRACK TO YOUR LIFE at five. CHRISTINA MILIAN scores her highest debut on the chart at 11 with SO AMAZIN' while rockers HOOBASTANK crash in at 12. Red Hot Chili Peppers' STADIUM ARCADIUM isn't only a hit in the group's native America - the double album has also racked up 27 number ones worldwide, including top spots in Argentina, Austria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy and the United Kingdom.
