Hollywood producer JERRY WEINTRAUB has hailed GEORGE CLOONEY and his OCEAN'S ELEVEN castmates for their similarities to the Rat Pack stars of the original 1960 film.

Legends FRANK SINATRA, DEAN MARTIN and SAMMY DAVIS JR's heist movie was a modest hit. However, 2001's remake starring Clooney, BRAD PITT and MATT DAMON was a huge blockbuster, scoring $183 million (GBP96 million) at the US box office.

Weintraub, the producer of Ocean's Eleven and its sequel OCEAN'S TWELVE, enthuses, "I knew Frank for 20 years and I knew his boys, and George Clooney and these guys are just as cool. The camaraderie George's pals have is pretty much the same as Frank had with his guys.

"I saw the bonding happen with both of these tight group of friends. Very early on in Ocean's Eleven it was clear it was more like working with a small theatre company, except that everyone gets paid a lot more."
