Plasticine movie stars WALLACE AND GROMIT have given Britain's cheese industry a massive boost thanks to the success of their film THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT.
Wallace's premier pleasure in life is Wensleydale cheese, which is made in northern England, and UK supermarkets have seen a massive 23 per cent sales increase since The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit hit cinemas.
ALAIN GULPIN, who is head cheese buyer for the Tesco supermarket chain, says, "Since the film came out last month (OCT05), the 'Wallace Effect' has been extraordinary.
"Not only have sales increased, but we've also been inundated with questions from customers wanting to know all about the cheese and its history.
"Wallace is a well-known cheese-lover and is proud to fly the flag for Wensleydale."
