USHER - USHER: I'M NOT READY FOR MARRIAGE

R+B superstar USHER backed out of marriage plans made by his former girlfriend ROZONDA 'CHILLI' THOMAS - fearing he was not mature enough to be a husband.

The couple - who went through multiple break-ups and reunions during their two year relationship - saw their romance flounder amid reports the U GOT IT BAD singer, 25, had refused to wed his TLC star lover, 33.

And now YEAH singer Usher admits there's a lot of truth to the rumours, telling America's US WEEKLY, "That relationship was very near and dear to me. I truly cared about her. We even contemplated marriage. I thought I was suitable for marriage, but then I started thinking, 'Is my foolish young age going to wreck this?'

"I've always viewed marriage as sacred. You only do it once."

As for Thomas' recent declaration that Usher cheated on her, the heart-throb adds, "I hear people talk about it, and I've chosen not to listen. You can't believe everything you hear, but some of it is true.

"We tried to make it work and it didn't. I wish her all the best and hope she's able to move on."
