R+B star USHER has been getting his hands dirty cleaning up a New Orleans, Louisiana, school devastated by Hurricane Katrina last year (05). The Grammy-winning singer joined volunteers at the International School of Louisiana on Tuesday (13JUN06), which has been closed since the hurricane struck last August. Usher slapped on some gloves and attacked some overgrown vines with a pair of trimmers. He said, "To see it, in this state, it's devastating. "I'm here to physically do something and hopefully motivate other people to do the same." It's not the first time Usher has dedicated time to the victims of Katrina - shortly after the Gulf Coast region was hit he founded Project Restart to help those left homeless find places to live.
