TWISTA - TWISTA INJURED IN CAR ACCIDENT

Hip-hop star TWISTA is recovering at home after being injured in a hit-and-run car accident on Saturday (07JAN06).

The SLOW JAMZ hitmaker, real name CARL TERRELL MITCHELL, was hit by another vehicle at 4am while driving in his Dodge Charger. While the rapper stopped his car, the other driver kept driving.

In a statement, the rapper says, "I want to thank all of my fans and supporters for checking in on my health. I was the victim of a hit and run car accident, but I am home resting comfortably as per the guidance of my doctor.

"The grind does not stop, as I will shortly be back in front of my fans, giving them the energetic performances they have come to expect from me."

This is the second car accident Twista has been involved in the past 18 months. In September 2004, the rapper survived a van crash, which resulted in the death of his bodyguard and close friend ARTHUR 'BUTCH' DIXON.
