SHANIA TWAIN has stunned the music industry by picking up her fourth Country Song of the Year Award from the American arm of music licensing agency BROADCAST MUSIC INCORPORATED (BMI).
FOREVER AND FOR ALWAYS, co-written by Twain and her husband ROBERT 'MUTT' LANGE, won the 2004 award for being the most performed country song of the year, based on broadcasts in America.
It was also named song of the year at the 2004 BMI LONDON AWARDS, and her hit YOU'RE STILL THE ONE received the honour at both the 1999 BMI POP AND COUNTRY AWARDS.
Other winners this year (04) included TOBY KEITH, who collected songwriter/artist of the year for AMERICAN SOLDIER, and CASEY BEATHARD earned country songwriter of the year.
YOU AIN'T WOMAN ENOUGH hitmaker LORETTA LYNN was named BMI Icon for "her enduring influence on generations of music makers".
