NIGHTWISH - TURUNEN THREATENED TO QUIT NIGHTWISH BEFORE SACKING

Finnish singer TARJA TURUNEN threatened to quit metal band NIGHTWISH, before being sacked by her bandmates in October (05).

Turunen was axed in a letter given to her in Helsinki, Finland, by her former colleagues after their final world tour performance.

And excerpts from the letter, which have been printed on a fansite, indicate that Turunen had previously told bandmate TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN she didn't need Nightwish anymore.

Text from the letter reads: "You said to me in airplane in Toronto, 'I don't need Nightwish anymore,' and, 'Remember, Tuomas, that I could leave this band at any time, giving you only one day's warning in advance.'"
