TRAVIS frontman FRAN HEALY flew out to one of Africa's poorest countries yesterday (11DEC04) to see how the money raised from the BAND AID 20 single will be spent.

The 31-year-old TURN hitmaker, who is one of a multitude of celebrities who sings on the chart-topping DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS?, decided to visit Sudan after a series of talks with SIR BOB GELDOF and MIDGE URE, who both wrote the original charity single in 1984.

Healy says, "All the media hype had been about the musicians coming together to re-record the single.

"I thought maybe somebody should go out to Sudan to highlight what's happening out there and to give an example of where the money is going."
