TOPLOADER STORIES
Defunct British band TOPLOADER are blaming a leading British supermarket for causing their downfall - because they turned one of their biggest hits into a "monster".
Food store chain J SAINSBURY used Toploader's track DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT in their TV adverts, and guitarist JULIAN DEANE believes they should have been paid more for their contribution.
He grumbles, "Sainsbury's only paid GBP10,000 ($16,000) for that song? Would you believe it? After that, it was all over for us. I can't bear to listen to that song any more. It became a monster."
Toploader acrimoniously split in March (03).
