SLEUTH - THEATRE DIRECTOR CLIFFORD WILLIAMS DEAD

British theatre director CLIFFORD WILLIAMS died on 20 August (05) in London. He was 78.

The Welsh-born beloved thespian was an associate director of the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1960s and also made his name on Broadway, New York, by directing productions of SLEUTH and BREAKING THE CODE.

But Williams was perhaps most famous for bringing controversial play OH! CALCUTTA to the London stage in 1970 - the production featured nude scenes.
