THE WHO frontman ROGER DALTREY put his bandmate PETE TOWNSHEND in hospital after the rockers fought on the set of a music video.
Daltrey, 60, fought with Townshend when he lost his temper over the production crew - who were friends of Townshend, after they failed to film him sing LOVE REIGN O'ER ME for the QUADROPHENIA movie in 1973.
Daltrey says, "So he (Townshend) wracked me round the bl**dy head with a guitar.
"I was being held back by two roadies, because they knew what I was like. I stood there and watched him do it. 'Yeah, what else you got?' So he said, 'Let him go or I'll kill him.'
"One whack and he was on the floor. But it was hysterically funny. In five minutes we'd gone from Love Reign O'er Me to me sitting in an ambulance, holding 'is hand, saying, 'Sorry, Pete, I didn't mean it.'
"Course if they'd had their bl**dy camera on, it would have been the best thing in the film."
