Legendary rockers THE WHO have been confirmed as a headline act at next year's (04) legendary ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL - over 30 years after performing a groundbreaking gig there.
The three-day event - which hosted stars like JIMI HENDRIX, BOB DYLAN, JONI MITCHELL and JEFFERSON AIRPLANE in its heyday - was restarted last year (02) after an absence of 32 years.
ROGER DALTREY, PETE TOWNSHEND and the rest of the veteran band will join fellow headliners DAVID BOWIE and STEREOPHONICS at the festival on 11, 12 and 13 June.
Their rip-roaring 1970 performance was crowned by Townshend's guitar-smashing at the end of the gig, which involved him trashing late drummer KEITH MOON's drum kit.
