DWAYNE JOHNSON - THE ROCK MAKES SINGING DEBUT

Wrestler-turned-actor DWAYNE 'THE ROCK' JOHNSON can now add a new skill to his list of talents - singing.

The muscle-bound screen star plays a gay bodyguard in new JOHN TRAVOLTA comedy BE COOL, and his role gave him the opportunity to show off his vocal skills.

He says, "I was comfortable with the singing, sure. Here's a chance with a character like this to be fearless as an actor. You wanna be fearless and jump off the cliff, so to speak, and sing a song.

"COAL MINER'S DAUGHTER's one of my favourite movies and SISSY SPACEK sung all of her songs in that movie. I thought, 'I'm gonna sing LORETTA LYNN (in Be Cool)!'"

Johnson's efforts have been included on the movie's soundtrack.
