Irish rockers THE POGUES had to buy their own artwork on eBay so they can re-release their classic song FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK next month (DEC05).
The SHANE MacGOWAN-fronted band could not find their copy of the sleeve design for the original 1987 single, which features late singer KIRSTY MacCOLL, so they had to buy it on the auction website.
A spokesperson for the group says, "They had a panic when they realised they didn't have a copy of the sleeve.
"In the end they had to buy a single from the auction site for GBP15."
