THE KILLERS - THE KILLERS PITCH DARK LOVE STORY VIDEO TO SPADER

Las Vegas, Nevada, rockers THE KILLERS are trying to persuade movie star JAMES SPADER to star in their arty new long-form video.

The MR BRIGHTSIDE hitmakers hope to start work on the promo, which will feature the group's songs JENNY WAS A FRIEND OF MINE, MIDNIGHT SHOW and LEAVE THE BOURBON ON THE SHELF, this summer (05) and they only have one star in mind for the project.

Frontman BRANDON FLOWERS tells MTV NEWS, "I'd love to get James Spader to be in it, and we're trying to pin him down now.

"Basically, it's the tale of a girl leaving her boyfriend and him killing her and then getting caught. To film it, we need a body of water, maybe Lake Mead.

"We'd like to take the thing to Sundance or put it on a DVD or something."
