British band THE DARKNESS are delighted by their whirlwind success, because it's brought stadium rock back to the masses.

The I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE hitmakers have burst onto the music scene in the last few months, and are encouraged to see other bands adopting their pure rock habits.

Singer JUSTIN HAWKINS says, "We're leading the rock revival. It's not what we set out to do. I didn't matter that it wasn't fashionable, it was a bonus - it was nicer to be the only ones doing it. Now there are a few others following in our footsteps.

"When we did our UK tour there were bands supporting us who had the same influences and got dressed up. There's a movement happening but it's been ignored by the music trade. It's an underground thing - it's weird to have stadium rock as the underground but it is."
