Actor KIEFER SUTHERLAND spends $34,000 (GBP19,000) a month, including a staggering $1,800 (GBP1,000) just on laundry bills, according to his divorce papers.

Documents detailing the 24 star's split from wife KELLY WINN SUTHERLAND have allowed an astonishing peek into the private life of one of America's biggest TV stars.

Among Sutherland's other expenses are $2,541 (GBP1,412) a month on dining out and GBP6,958 (GBP3,866) on entertaining and presents - which all leave a considerable dent in his recorded assets of $5,782,387 (GBP3,212,437) and his monthly salary of $504,000 (GBP280,000).

Lawyers for Kelly Winn, who split from the actor in 1999 after just two years of marriage, is fighting for half of everything Sutherland owns.

For the case, the star has had to draw up a detailed list of all his assets, which include a $2.7 million (GBP1.5 million) Beverly Hills, California mansion and another house in nearby Sherman Oaks worth $630,000 (GBP350,000), a guitar collection worth $180,000 (GBP100,000), horses worth $10,000 (GBP5,550) and three luxury cars.
