KIEFER SUTHERLAND - SUTHERLAND FRACTURES KNEE TO SAVE OUTFIT

Actor KIEFER SUTHERLAND was so worried about dirtying his outfit when he tripped and fell on the set of his show 24, he ended up suffering a fractured kneecap instead.

The actor, who recently received an EMMY nomination for his portrayal of COUNTER-TERRORIST UNIT agent JACK BAUER in the popular series, admits his injury was sustained through no other reason but fear of being told off.

He says, "I never told anybody this, but I fractured my kneecap running on the set.

"I had a soda in my hand and I tripped on a cable, but I was scared to death of our wardrobe lady if I spilled any of it on me, so I didn't break my fall.

"Being Jack Bauer hasn't hurt me at all, but being me is a physical challenge."
