Movie beauty SUMMER PHOENIX remains close to her family, despite her parents divorcing after the death of her brother RIVER PHOENIX in 1993.

THE FACULTY actress insists her free-living clan are as bonded as ever, even though their lives have gone in different directions.

Summer, 24, says, "We're constantly in each other's lives. I play piano with my sister RAIN's band, THE PAPER CRANES.

"I see my mom in Florida or my dad in Central America as often as I can, and I called JOAQUIN this morning because I thought I'd stuffed up and audition. He was very supportive."
