Irish movie star COLIN FARRELL is convinced the heavens sent him a powerful message when his son was born.

The actor was in Morocco preparing for his role in OLIVER STONE's epic ALEXANDER when his son was born last September (03), and the big moment was marked by an odd storm.

Farrell says, "I was in bootcamp and it was about a week-and-a half before we started shooting and I got the call... I got the call that she (ex-girlfriend KIM BORDENAVE) had gone into labour and then I was on the phone.

"It was in Morocco and it had been sunny for two months. It had been like 100 degrees and it hadn't rained at all, and, as soon as I heard he was born, about 20 minutes later the f**king clouds came in and it started to lash down rain.

"It was a very cleansing and powerful thing. Even all these cynical military guys that were in the bootcamp with us, and the tough lads, thought it was a bit of an omen. It was cool."
