SHARON STONE's brain haemorrhage went a week without being treated because her husband and friends thought the actress' erratic behaviour was a result of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The actress fell ill a week after the atrocities, and after one nasty attack she was convinced she had had a stroke.
But family and friends felt sure she was simply reacting to the horrors of 9/11, and it wasn't until her husband PHIL BRONSTEIN checked her blood pressure that they knew something was seriously wrong.
Stone reveals, "I'm a person who thinks I've had a brain tumour for years, but I knew something was terribly wrong.
"I didn't go to the hospital for three days and I was delirious. This was the week after September 11, so the whole country was out of its mind, and everyone thought I was just crazed, too.
"I was saying things to people. It's a wonder they didn't put me in an asylum.
"Phil called my doctor, who told him to take my blood pressure. It was just off the map."
