Soul sensation JOSS STONE has rubbished reports she's engaged to her producer boyfriend BEAU DOZIER - insisting the jewel-encrusted ring she wears symbolises her promise of fidelity to him.

The YOU HAD ME beauty was amazed when Dozier presented her with the romantic gift - which features purple gems, diamonds and a miniature butterfly - because it was designed by PHILLIP PRESS exactly as she would have chosen herself.

The 18-year-old says, "It's an American thing. I'm promised to him and he's promised to me. Isn't that lovely?

"Purple is my favourite colour, I love butterflies and flowers - I'm such a girl. And he's actually thought to do that. He's a man, can you believe that? He ain't gay, either. I was so impressed."
