American shock jock HOWARD STERN is heading for outer space after signing a deal to air an uncensored daily show on satellite radio network SIRIUS.

The outrageous DJ will broadcast his top-rated morning programme without commercials as part of a new five-year deal, which will begin in 2006.

Stern is America's number one radio host, despite suffering a number of recent censorship blows after fronting a handful of risque shows.

In the past year, Stern, whose show has consistently tested the boundaries of what the FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION (FCC) deems acceptable content, has been a prime target in the organisation's investigation into broadcast indecency.

Stern admits he's thrilled to get the chance to present his show without the constraints of censorship and decency issues.

He says, "It has been my dream to have the top-rated show in radio since I was five-years-old. Sirius, the future of radio, will take this dream to a whole new level as I bring my fans my show, my way. It will be the best radio they will ever hear."
