Struggling British pop star LISA SCOTT-LEE is vying to replicate the success of ABBA and CELINE DION by having a shot at the Eurovision Song Contest next year (06).

The singer, who previously found chart success with pop group STEPS, is desperate to revive her flagging career after her latest bid for fame - reality TV show TOTALLY SCOTT-LEE - failed to inspire fans.

She says, "People may laugh but some acts have had a lot of success after being in the contest."

Scott-Lee, 29, will first have to break the recent curse of British acts at the competition. This year's entrant, JAVINE, made little impact while in 2004 duo JEMINI finished last.
