Brooke Shields - Stars Team Up For Last-Minute Performances

CHRISTINA RICCI, JULIANNA MARGULIES and BROOKE SHIELDS teamed up to perform a show with a difference on Monday night (22SEP03) - a series of plays written just a day before.

The event was New York's annual 24-HOUR PLAYS ON BROADWAY benefit at the AMERICAN AIRLINES THEATRE, which featured seasoned stage performers such as Margulies and ROSIE PEREZ in six short plays which were written exactly 24 hours before their performance.

Margulies, who recently ended her stint alongside BENJAMIN BRATT in the play INTRIGUE WITH FAYE, says, "I would have liked one more day of rehearsal, but I feel lucky that I just finished a play.

"I think if I hadn't just been doing a play for four months, I would have been a mess. But everyone did so well. You have no idea how many lines were dropped!"

Also performing were ALAN CUMMING, SAM ROCKWELL and LIEV SCHREIBER, while BILLY CRUDUP and Bratt pulled out at the last minute.

The event benefited the WORKING PLAYGROUND organisation, which brings arts to public schools.
