WILLIAM SHATNER - STARS SIGN UP FOR EMMY SINGING CONTEST

WILLIAM SHATNER, MEGAN MULLALLY and DONALD TRUMP are among a host of stars who are set to compete in a singing talent contest at 18 September's (05) Emmy Awards.

Modelling the competition on hit TV show AMERICAN IDOL, the stars will participate in EMMY IDOL, where they'll sing TV theme classics, with viewers voting by text message and on the internet for their favourites.

Shatner will sing the theme from his classic TV show STAR TREK with opera star FREDRICA VON STADE, while VERONICA MARS' KRISTEN BELL will perform FAME.

CSI star GARY DOURDAN will team up with MACY GRAY to deliver MOVIN' ON UP from THE JEFFERSONS, while Mullally and Trump will perform a GREEN ACRES duet.
