SIR PAUL McCARTNEY, ELIZABETH HURLEY and CHARLOTTE CHURCH are donating artwork to a charity auction at the request of British student DAISY BELL.

The auction will see celebrities and artists come together to raise money for Care International in memory of Bell's uncle ROBIN NEEDHAM who died helping victims of the Asian tsunami disaster last year (DEC04).

Bell, who is studying Psychology at Edinburgh University, wrote to a horde of stars asking them to donate a blank postcard with a sample of their artwork for charity.

Celebrities and artists who obliged include BILL NIGHY, MARIO TESSTINO, JOANNA TROLLOPE, THE KINGS OF LEON and MARGARET HOCKNEY.

Christie's Scotland director BERNARD WILLIAMS says, "We are potentially looking at tens of thousands of pounds. The Hirst and the McCartney are star lots."

The postcards can be viewed at www.artofcare.co.uk.
