BRITNEY SPEARS - SPEARS' FATHER IN REHAB FOR BOOZE ADDICTION

BRITNEY SPEARS father is allegedly in rehab fighting an addiction to alcohol and pain-killers.

JAMIE SPEARS, 52, is secretly undergoing therapy at a Los Angeles clinic - as part of a six-month course of treatment being paid for by his superstar daughter.

The TOXIC singer's father, who is only allowed out of the recovery centre once a week, met up with Spears last week (begs19JUL04) and her fiance KEVIN FEDERLINE at the Los Angeles' Los Feliz restaurant.

A source tells Britain's NEWS OF THE WORLD newspaper, "Mr Spears looked less than impressed with Britney's choice of fiance.

"He kept his distance and looked very stern - but obviously he had other things on his mind.

"He is struggling with his own demons and this is not a good time to be meeting his future son-in-law."
