Former SPANDAU BALLET singer TONY HADLEY is recovering in a London hospital after having his appendix removed.

The TRUE singer, 45, was rushed to the Whittington Hospital in north London on Saturday night (07JAN06) after experiencing stomach cramps.

His manager JOHN GLOVER says, "He will be in hospital for a couple of days and we have had to cancel all his shows in January.

"He is comfortable in hospital and whilst he is feeling 'a bit knackered', he is OK."

Hadley is hopeful he will recover in time to hike Venezuela's Mount Roraima for charity on 30 January (06).
