Polish author STANISLAW LEM, whose popular novel SOLARIS was adapted for a GEORGE CLOONEY movie, has died of heart failure. He was 84. Lem passed away in a Krakow hospital on Monday (27MAR06), his secretary confirmed. The science fiction writer has sold over 27 million books, including THE INVINCIBLE, THE CYBERIAD, HIS MASTER'S VOICE, THE STAR DIARIES, THE FUTUROLOGICAL CONGRESS and TALES OF PRIX THE PILOT. Lem is survived by his wife and son.
