SNOOP DOGG - SNOOP DOGG GETS RADIO PROMOTION

Ambitious rapper SNOOP DOGG has been promoted from DJ to producer at US satellite radio network XM - and promises to use the role both to champion new music and revive old hits.

The SNOOPAFELLA hitmaker, who already has his own show with the broadcasting company, will now oversee programming for hip-hop channel The Rhyme.

And the star - real name CALVIN BROADUS - can't wait to be in charge.

He says, "I am truly excited about being able to have total control over the music and programming for The Rhyme.

"I will play music that people have never heard and music that they haven't heard in a long time."
